Fish Tacos
Well, after experimenting with different ways to use Open Blue's Cobia (aka Black Kingfish), I decided to create a new fish taco recipe. After spending 10 days in Mexico with my family, I really felt like I had...
Pork Tenderloin with Caramelized Onions, Black Beans, Sweet Potato Toast & Avocado Cream
I once again found inspiration for this dish from the Flavor Bible, by Karen Page and Andrew Dornenburg. I wanted to combine ingredients that were unusual but had a good balance of flavors, and paired nicely together. So this dish has a little bit of everything,...
Lamb Sandwich with Whipped Ricotta Mint Dressing
My son was bored with the typical "Ham and Cheese" sandwich, so I stepped it up a bit. I used our leftover lamb tenderloin fillet, which was cooked medium rare and had a silky smooth texture, to make his sandwich. I combined some whipped ricotta cheese with salt,...
Endive with Gorgonzola, Walnuts and Pears
I was slacking off in the kitchen for a while, and I can tell my husband was really looking for something new in our culinary lives, so I whipped up his favorite type of greens (or rather yellow ;-). Endives! I personally think they are a little bitter, so I added...
Slow Cooker Tomatillo Pork Shoulder
For approximately a year now, I've been volunteering for an amazing organization here in Boulder, called There With Care. There With Care’s mission is to provide a wide range of thoughtful and fundamental services to children and families during the critical phase of...
Seared Tuna with Wasabi Crème Fraîche and Ginger Soy reduction
I cherish every minute I get to spend with my 17-year-old son, especially in the kitchen. He is so brutally honest when it comes to critiquing my food that it has made me a better cook. (He actually could be an amazing professional food critic). I have to credit him...
Fried Trout with Brown Sage Butter and Capers
This is probably not the lightest dish! But the infamous "they" said that fish has a high water content and when you fry it in oil, the fish itself does not absorb the oil, so if you put that delicious crispy skin aside, you can actually still have a healthy meal....
Haricots Vert (French Green Beans), Almonds and Parmesan
Haricot Vert are a thinner and smaller version of the standard American green beans. I cooked these last night as a side dish to my fried trout with brown sage butter (I'll post that recipe tomorrow). The flavor combinations came from the "affinities" listed in my...
Channa Dal (Dahl)
It's finally winter, and I really wanted to something that was hearty, healthy and warm. It's been years since I've made this Ayurvedic dal (Dahl), but it has always been one of my favorite dishes. I learned this recipe over 18 years ago when my husband and I visited...
Zan’s Favorite Products
At Zelicious Recipes, we understand that having the best products in your kitchen can make the difference between a delicious home-cooked meal and a disaster. That’s why we’ve put together some of our top recommendations for the best products to stock your kitchen with.
When it comes to cooking supplies, we recommend investing in quality cookware and utensils. Look for products made from stainless steel or cast iron, as they are durable and will last you for years. You’ll also want to pick up some measuring spoons, spatulas, and a good set of knives.
When it comes to ingredients, there are endless options. We recommend buying fresh produce, as it’s the most nutritious and delicious way to cook. Stock up on whole grains, healthy oils, herbs, and spices. You’ll also want to have a variety of proteins on hand, such as chicken, beef, and fish.
For seafood, we recommend looking for sustainable and ethical sources. Look for companies that are certified by the Marine Stewardship Council, as they have been verified to have sustainable fishing practices.
Finally, don’t forget to pick up some pantry staples, such as rice, pasta, beans, and canned tomatoes. These items will come in handy when you’re in a pinch and need a quick meal.
By stocking your kitchen with quality products, you’ll be well on your way to creating delicious meals. At Zelicious Recipes, we’re here to help you make your kitchen the best it can be.

The best ingredients
When cooking, I always try and use the best and healthiest ingredients, so I always opt for ORGANIC. Organic foods often have more beneficial nutrients, such as antioxidants, than their conventionally-grown counterparts, and people with allergies to foods, chemicals, or preservatives often find their symptoms lessen or go away when they eat only organic foods.

OUR FAVORITES.
Zan‘s favorite recipes are all about simple and delicious meals that are easy to make and full of flavor. Her homemade pesto is a delicious sauce made with fresh herbs, garlic, and olive oil that can be used as a dip, topped on pasta, or spread on crostini. Her simple and easy roasted chicken is a great way to get a delicious dinner on the table in no time. She marinates it in herbs and garlic, then roasts it to perfection in the oven. Her pork tacos are a delightfully flavorful combination of marinated pork, peppers, and onions, all wrapped up in a warm corn tortilla. Finally, her quick and easy tomato sauce is the perfect topping for a variety of dishes, from pasta to pizza. It‘s made with a combination of fresh and canned tomatoes, garlic, and herbs, and it‘s ready in just minutes.
OUR COCKTAILS.
I have always been kind of a “drink snob”. So after being asked numerous times for my recipes, I thought I would make a page solely dedicated to my favorite cocktails. I have added the Large Batch version as well, for those entertaining a large number of guests. Enjoy and please drink responsibly!
